Enr1x's idea for customising the playlist

Enr1x submitted a mockup of his idea of having the ability to configure the appearance of the playlist. In the mockup of the Article page, we can see two rows for each track: one for the artist, in bold, with the length and the lower one is for the track title and rating. Personally, i would'nt like it. Or at least, i'd like to have the title in the upper row and in bold. Maybe each one's needs are different, so, customising this information will be done from the settings dialog. Here we can see how the instructions are displayed as the user hovers the mouse on the input fields, and they can also drag the variables from the containers below. Just drag them and you'll have them in the playlist! Cool eh?. This could also solve the bug #100440 (which enr1x voted and commented).

  • Configuration dialogs are a last resort, since no one finds them and they add complexity to our already complex config dialog. --Ian 19:24, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

The sorting "problem"

Right click -> Sort by -> [artist | track number | album | rating | score]. That's how winamp, foobar and others do this ;).

  • Good idea! The right click menu has low visibility, but then again some people don't know they can click on the headers either. --Ian 19:24, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

Grouping consecutive tracks of the same album

How about grouping consecutive tracks of the same album together, so you don't have to repeat the composer, artist, album information for each track, but just have this information once at the beginning of each album?

I made a mockup of this idea a while ago here
