As long as the kde-source eclass isn't svn-ready, this ebuild should work: amarok-svn-1.3.ebuild --BOYerchen 10:47, 8 May 2005 (EDT)

Instructions for building with internalization support

I'd really like to build amarok with internationalization support, for my parents. They spoke italian, and since the ubuntu package they use do provide only english, I want to build it from source. These instructions does not tell how to do; please consider adding it. Thank you very much! :-) Febs

the translations are part of our releases so just download the tarball and install it, for sure you have to set italian as kde's language --Apachelogger 10:59, 10 Sep 2005 (EDT)
so there is no way to install from the SVN?Febs

Bksys, Qt4, what's that stuff?

Hello. I'm pretty curious about the new stuff in the SVN repository. I've read that bksys is "a way" to build apps by using SCons, well, an alternative building method. Does this influence the building of amaroK right now? I'm still following these instructions. Also, there are a kde4.py and a qt4.py files in that folder. Is amarok starting to migrate to Qt4? Thanks for any info. Febs 08:05, 16 Sep 2005 (EDT)

KDE will swtich to bksys as buildsystem for KDE4, and coz we are always using feature technologies we do some testing with this stuff, it doesn't influence building yet. We havn't started Qt 4 porting yet and don't know when we will, but it seems that there will be a amaroK 1.4 before we release the Qt 4 and KDE 4 based amaroK 2.0, again -> nothing special for building.--Apachelogger 10:18, 16 Sep 2005 (EDT)
