Please rollback or unprotect

Please rollback to oldid 11048 or something like that. One correct change since then which can be preserved is relabelling "Fedora Core" to "Fedora".

One reason is that 11048 has some sorting. It is sorted alphabetically, except for SUSE being first, which, looking at the person who made the change's contributions, is most likely biased.--Chealer 06:31, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Current order is a somewhat support && up-to-date && love && suggestion order.
What do you mean by "support" and "love"?--Chealer 06:36, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
I still can't remember the actual idea behind, but I had a alphabetically order while layout was WIP but I dropped it, because:
  1. we have logos which make finding hell easy anyway
Except for blind people, that's right, but doesn't support any sorting more than the others.--Chealer 06:36, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
  2. the list is not AS long as alphabetically order would make special sense
  3. decreasing logo size makes the page really good appealing (and bigger logos for main distros [for amaork], though they are in "random order" [not meaningful for logos] is kind of awkward)--Apachelogger 21:06, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
I think this is only possible as long as there's an equal number of "main" and "non-main" distros. If we consider the 5 distros which currently use a big icon plus Debian as main, and the remaining as non-main, that makes 6 main distros and 4 non-main distros (but with only 3 links). That won't work. It would be possible to downgrade Mandriva to the non-main distros, but think about it... I, as "advocate of the discriminated main distro", took only about 2 months to react. Sure, there are less Mandriva users and they're less experienced, but I wouldn't expect them to never react.--Chealer 06:36, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
  4. To finally sort that issue: http://aplg.kollide.net/images/amarok/download_clicks_sept-may.png - google analytics pretty obviously shows us which distros are most clicked (=most wantd [=at the top]) - over and out--Apachelogger 18:48, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

Ubuntu

Remidner to myself: We should add Ubuntu as seperate Distro before 2.0.0, as many users might not know they can look in the Kubuntu section. --Sven423 08:27, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
