Mandriva 2011: Amarok 2.4.1

Amarok is not installed by default in Mandriva 2011, but you can easily install it. To install it you need to have your repositories correctly configured, visit easyurpmi.zarb.org for more information on how to do it. Then you can use the Mandriva Control Center or type the following command in a terminal as root:

urpmi amarok

Mandriva 2010 and 2010.1

Mandriva 2010.1 Spring:

  • Amarok 2.3.2 is available in the main backports media (using standard urpmi repositories)

Mandriva 2010.0:

  • Amarok 2.3.1 is available in the main backports media (using standard urpmi repositories)

Phonon Backends

GStreamer, vlc and Xine are available as Phonon backends in Mandriva. The Gstreamer backend is installed by default and it is the recommended one, but you may find another one works better for you. You can install any of them in the Mandriva Control Center or typing the following commands in a terminal as root:

GStreamer (Recommended)

urpmi phonon-gstreamer

VLC

urpmi phonon-vlc

Xine (Deprecated)

urpmi phonon-xine
