The largest open space reading area in the world...

Wow... So I have been gone barely one week and I can't seem to control my unmistakable urge to write to the amarok community to say hello.  Currently I am sitting in the Biblotheca Alexandrina reading through cvs-digest, in the largest open space reading area in the world, overlooking 10 levels of books, people and computers.  Situated in Alexandria, Egypt, the library has been built to remember the original ancient library which was destroyed.

It truly is quite a site.  Meanwhile Cairo is a great city - aside from the repulsive levels of pollution - with hospitable people and great food!  Similarly, the pyramids are an exceptional site, and amused myself by illegally climbed one of the smaller ones (shhh...).

I am very excited because I am going to be heading down south to the ancient city of Thebes (now Luxor), Aswan and Abu Simbel in the next couple of days, but for now, I am going to return to reading my Tin Tin comics and be a part of this once in a lifetime experience.

Keep well, and keep-on-a-rockin'
