Unicode characters in filenames and MTP

I'm not sure if this has already been reported to the devs or if it is local to my version of Amarok shipped with my distribution. The issue is that Amarok will refuse to synchronize either playlists or transfer files which contain Unicode (UTF-8) characters such as accentuated characters (á, é, í, ó, ú, à, è, ì, ò, ù, ä, ë, ï, ö, ü, etc) and special characters (ñ, €, ø, ß, etc). The problem is that using plain old
mtp-connect --sendfile (mtp-sendfile)
it is possible to sync such files, the problem in this case seems that the files are not registered within the MTP device's internal database (particularly with device's poorly supported formats such as ogg) which through AmaroK works rather well. The way to transfer such files would be (for instance):
Code:
[Select]
mtp-connect --sendfile "Haydn - Sinfonía No 103 - 1.ogg" 6541325
Amarok doesn't seem to be able to transfer these, and I'm not sure if it is due to a problem with Unicode characters with KDE or if it is a problem with Unicode characters in QT or what. KDE and other QT applications seem to have no problems with these filenames and/or characters, and certainly libmtp doesn't seem to have it either (as using the command-line tools it is possible to transfer these). I wonder if this issue has been previously reported or if someone else has experienced it.

Did you ever get a response to this? I'm using Amarok on Ubuntu, and when I run into a Unicode file, it doesn't just not transfer the file, it falls down and goes boom.

Until recently Amarok simply gracefully bypassed the files, and an error message popped up. Lately, though, it has been acting up when syncing problematic files, apparently files with associated album art which is excessively large (more than 2kx2k pixels), but that's about it... I really think the lack of unicode support for transferring files affects my enjoyment of my portable device, though I'm VERY happy I can at least use it in Linux.
