How many tracks are in your music collection?

excuse ;)

I also have more than 50.000, but most of them I download :) Maybe, it's illegal in my country, but I's also illegal to come home to anybody adn check their personal computers with the aim of finding some tracks ;) But I have one excuse, cause I can say, that I simply grabbed all my tracks from my CDs, and my CD are now scratched, so I threw them away, but left info I've paid for ;)

Looks like there's a bunch of show-off here...

5014 tracks. 50% i don't listen to anymore (kinda stupid, eh ?)
Honestly, it makes me laugh when i see all those comments saying "i have da biggest and i spent 1.093.517 days ripping the original CDs in FLAC"

Wow

Lots of people with huge collections here ... makes mine feel tiny :( I've got a bit more than 3600 tracks (11 days), 95% ogg (q4-7) Slowly growing as I buy things. An expensive and time consuming, but legal venture.

52977 Tracks in my collection

And 14724 of them are sorted, (ID3-Tags and filenames completly filled and correct). Every day it's getting more and more and more and more and more and so on ;)

45842 songs in my collection

45842 songs in my collection all in lossless wma...

5679 FLAC tracks

All songs ripped directly from original CDs. Music is just too precious for lossy formats. I have not even ripped any burned CD, not for legal reasons but because I want to be sure about the quality of the source. Lots of people burn a CD, then scratch it a hundred times, then lend it to a friend who copies it and scratches his new CD a hundred times and lets a friend of his copy it and so on...

Funny guy

Hey funny guy aren't you a bit exaggerating ? Actually, you're saying you ripped about six hundred CDs all by yourself in FLAC ?
... ... Oh oh ! In fact, you're like God himself ! You looked at these six hundred CDs and you said "Let these CDs be ripped !" And you saw that the CDs were ripped.

Hum, it's legal in our country to download music... I have one music cd rom at all :-D

why not, just listen to them, not to keep them,

i have a stock of my own cd's, i could share them too.

Lots of music

I have 20001-50001 in database now (because I had to format, but I had had even more in the past).

In my country (Spain) is legal to download music too, but only for private non profit use. But I buy musical CDs too, because I want to support what I really really like (I can't afford to buy all I like).

in the Netherlands it is

in the Netherlands it is also legal to download games, music, movies enz only uploading is illegal :D

squeezebox

I use amarok to fix up and tidy the id3 tags. Otherwise I play everything through squeezebox using squeezecenter.
I've probably bought around 200 albums the last year because of the squeezebox. ~65% is legal.
85% music I and my wife like, 5% ripped for my 12year niese, 10% children songs for my 5year old boy.
I listen to about 20 new albums a week and only around 2 makes the list. the rest is garbage.

Some extra info (>100,000)

Around 1/4 of the collection are FLACs.
Around 1/4 of the collection are lossless WMAS which will be re-ripped as FLACS in the near future.
Around 1/2 of the collection are MP3, OGG, APE etc. These will -- at some time -- be substituted by FLAC ones.

Around 1/3 of the collection are legal files (i.e. I own the respective CD, VINYL, mp3 purchased on the web).
Around 1/3 is not exactly legal, but I will be purchasing them in the near/not-so-near future (why don't shops sell FLACs?).
Around 1/3 is not exactly legal, and will be dumped in the near/not-so-near future.

0 files have DRM.

3 files among all the purchased from e-musicshops contained watermarks and were sent to hell.

converting to flac is

converting to flac is nonsense if the source is a lossy codec.

twaddle

You're clearly an idiot if you think MS are going to keep their codec around for very long in it's current spec. They probably won't even tell people or document the changes....Playsforsure anyone?

Re-ripping a lossless codec

Could make sense if the poster feels they were ripped poorly in the first place and wants to re-do them. Considering they were encoded in WMA, use of a less desirable ripper is very likely.

1180 OGG songs

fresh music daemon

There's a speakerbox-set that always moved around from one employee to another in my office.
And it's real annoying when the speakerbox owned by someone with musics that I don't like.
So I decided to "nail-it-down" on my computer and build a music daemon, and thanks to Amarok, it's a lot easier.
Although the automatic queue doesn't work, I never really care. Whenever there's someone who keeps changing the current track, I'll just ban him/her ;) God invented iptables for a reason ^_^
Oh, about my music library... I only have 1781 tracks... Mostly video game music collections

What do you use for the music daemon? I guess web control.

I've used a VNC virtual console to control VNC before at LAN parties. Works great, especially with the java web client.

13526 songs

13526 songs in 36 genres, 7 weeks and 3 days playtime.

All Tags perfectly filled and genre classified, and all files renamed and classified into a folder structure. Is a strong work (about another 10+K songs remaining) so is the only way to maintain this amount of music!

Great application. Congratulations to the development team! (maybe in a short future I'll try to join them and help :-))

wow

hey cool I was voice number 12111 :P

pretty high number by the way that indicates a very strong interest in things like Amarok. good work!

and about 4000 songs in my "shit" folder, where all the stuff goes which isn't good enough for my pod ;)

MUSIC

I've got about 6k songs, and that's not including the load that I lost during a harddrive failure. Mostly ripped from CDs, or downloaded from Newgrounds/OCRemix/last.fm Free Songs/Other websites that I have came across that let me download their music for free
Also about 100 iTunes tracks that I can't listen to.

Let's have some decorum

I now have three tracks in my music library! I'm so excited and can't wait to add more!
