I have a very annoying problem with amarok and my father, he don't find the play/pause/stop/etc BUTTONS!!!!!! so please for amarok 2 make these buttons VERY BIG like the ones in the screens you put in this blog.
Will it be possible to disable the show of the art cover in the Playlist from the Preferences menu ?
I'm thinking of this because I almost all the time use the smart random playlist, and I got the feeling that it would really turn my playlist into a ugly Christmas Tree However for playlist filled with two or three albums it can really help showing how much more songs from the same album, this is why I think this would be a good idea to enable/disable it from the preferences menu (or from a right-click on the playlist or wherever the best place is) Thanks.
hmm, thats an interesting point about the xmas tree playlist... could end up a bit visually busy...
Perhaps an option to present a 'subdued' album covers in the playlist. The covers would still be displayed but a lot of the colour would be bled out of them (perhaps then tinted a little with what ever the predominate accent colour for the current amarok scheme). This could be the best of both worlds... easy recognition of the artist/album the current/next/last/whatever track is but without being really loud visually.
I have been playling around with this playlist for a while, and even though it does get quite colorful with tracks from different albums, it does not seem to be that big of an issue as the number of tracks that are actually shown at once are not that large. Actually, I have found that, for me, the album covers though small are an excellent reference point for quickly recognizing what tracks are playing.
That said, The original plan was to make the entries in the playlist highly configurable with regards to what information is displayed for each track, so more likely than not, it will be possible to disable (or dim as a noter poster has suggested ) the covers in the playlist. Also, we are considering visually grouping tracks from the same album, so this might have some influence on how he final playlist experience will turn out.
Hi, thumbs up for the good work!
However, I hope that it will still be possible to manage playlists in the classic fullscreen view. I'm used to it from iTunes and Amarok 1 and I really need to see as much information as possible on the whole screen to organize my music collection.
This is something we are currently discussing. As the playlist is now model/view based ( well, sort of, but that is too much details for this post ) creating another "classical" view of the playlist model should be relatively simple and I for one tend to think that it would be worthwhile. Ideally you would be able to switch views on the fly...
I cannot promise that this will appear in the first 2.0 release, but it does seem likely to happen somewhere along the line!
All this in a week ? quite impressive
If you continue like this, Amarok 2 will be ready for kde 4.0 release
Hi, when i click to tray icon to maximize Amarok, then I need to drag mouse over whole screen to click for instance stop button. I'd prefer that line with control buttons down, as is in Amarok 1.x. Will that be possible?
Thx
Hi, I was wondering why the MP3's stopped playing in my Amarok? Thank you so much, its a most awesome player, the only one I'll use now "-) Interfaces wonderfully with my Ipod, and rocks graphics and content wise! Great job!
