Run up the wall

I’ve run into a dead end in a process of debugging a website. Here’s the low-down.

A particular university website is needed for my (and my sister’s) study.

I have a 2 desktops and 1 laptop, all running kubuntu fiesty, on the same network, same dmz etc

Only the laptop loads the website

The website will load under windows on both of the desktops

Turns out, that the desktops will load the website, but very, very slowly (about 5 minute delay)

I have absolutely, no clue about how to continue debugging and hopefully fixing the problem. Does anybody have any suggestions that I could use to try and get this up and running again?

nb: it doesn’t seem to be ipv6 causing the problems.

Ok, basic troubleshooting:

I guess that all the other websites are loading without a problem? Have you tried different browsers? Do the desktops happen to have the same network card?

Try Firebug, it might give you some clues

If it's a network problem, wirshark should help.

BTW: Are the laptops wireless & the desktop wired? That'd not be the same network.

hell, that problem's hell strange...

$ nslookup vista.elearning.unsw.edu.au

most likely the name will be resolved, now comes the strange thing.... for me it didn't work either, this might be related to the fact that I'm in austria and the server in austraLia.
BUT after I set a proxy it worked somewhat perfect, before that konqueror was just waiting for server response... and waiting... and waiting...

so: try with a proxy
