I’m now using google’s hosted facility to host my mail! Now I can have my own domain with the wonders of conversation views in gmail. Neat! Now, if only gmail could import the thousands of emails i already have from the other server…

KMail with rules (to resend to gmail), modified subjects ([Importedmail]), and gmail filters combined allowed me to import my email to my gmail account.

I used gExodus to import all the millions of emails.
Just try gExodus from http://blog.codefront.net/archives/2004/06/21/gexodus-a-graphical-gmail-import-tool or GML from http://www.marklyon.org/gmail/gmailapps.htm

Yeah well, I mentioned KMail because that was the only thing that worked for me. I tried all gExodus, GML and so on and none worked. YMMV, but KMail is probably on your desktop and just works.
