Amarok 2.3!

Dear Community,

you might have heard it already elsewhere, but I thought it would be a nice touch if I wrote a short article as well. The good news:

Fresh Release: Amarok 2.3 'Clear Light'

We are rather happy with this release, and I think we were able to deliver a nicely rounded start of the new Amarok 2.3 series. As always, you can expect new releases in this series fairly rapidly, as we plan to keep our "roughly 6 weeks" release cycle.

The splash is nice but why it only represents the Pop? :-?
Rock and Classic are missing. Next time more "neutral" splash please

i'd like to know what sort of "pop" you see in a splash screen like the one in 2.3.0

If anything it looks like flower power to me

aaah, that's another pic, I thought the image by Roozbeh above (really cool) is the splash for 2.3... I like the actual splash too, btw, nothing wrong with it but the dancing and singing ppl - wicked

Yeah. We had a bit of a bikeshedding issue about choosing the right image. I was very much in favor of the above, but we couldn't all agree on that.

In the end we decided to use a different image for each 2.3 release. Better than throwing bricks at each other's head, or something

Hmmm, OK, if the image is used for the next minor release or the one after that it will see the light of day, and imho it's worth it so that's cool too

It's good to have so much choice, better than having only little so let's not complain or throw things at each other.

Hi, i have a problem. i have updated my amarok 2.2 to 2.3 and now, i can't build any collection. i deleted and reinstall but it doesn't work. Also i deleted .kde/apps/amarok and .kde/share/amarokrc but it's the same. do you have any idea? thanks

Any chance Amarok will finally get a simple way to bookmark radio streams? E.g. a simple field to enter the URL (like for podcasts) and then get them listed somewhere in the internet tab would be perfectly fine so it really shouldn't be hard to do.

Please add something like this so I can finally listen again to my fav streams without a browser or manually pasting the URLs back & forth.

I use a saved playlist for this, just with only the radio station you wanna save in the list.

I cannot see the coloured moodbar although I have enabled it in settings. Is there an external program/plugin I need to install?

Same problem with me, it shows moodbar for some(a few) songs but not for all.
